Caring for Poinsettias

Proper care of the poinsettias once the customer receives delivery can help to promote repeat sales from year to year.

1. Place plants in indirect sunlight for at least 6 hours per day.
2. Provide room temperatures between 68 & 70 degrees.
3. Water plants thoroughly when soil is dry to touch.
4. Use a large shopping bad to protect plant when transporting.
5. Fertilize plants after blooming season with AP fertilizer.
6. Don't place plants near cold drafts or excessive heat.
7. Don't expose plants to temperatures below 50 degrees.
8. Don't allow plants to sit in standing water.
9. Don't expose plants to chilling winds when transporting.
10. Don't fertilize your plants when they are in bloom.
